CASY (Counselling and Support for Young People)

CASY is a charity which provides a confidential, one to one counselling service to young people aged from 9 to 25 years old within the dispersed rural areas of Lincolnshire and North Nottinghamshire. They provide counselling in schools and community venues, as well as workshops on issues around counselling, mental health and emotional well being. Workshops are also available for teachers and support staff.

2010 has seen CASY’s number of volunteer therapists grow to 60 and they are now working in 17 schools in Lincolnshire. Becky Johnson added, “We have recieved very encouraging feedback from our work with the Horncastle cluster of schools and are hoping to widen our work within more community venues in Lincolnshire in order to make the service more accessible to all young people.”
