The Individual Budgets Network Lincolnshire ( http://www.ibnl.org.uk) is a made of organisations in the public, voluntary, community and private sector who have an interest in health and social care. In response to the governments Putting People First Agenda, we are all looking at ways in which the services and support we provide can be more tailored towards the individual.
Our primary aims are:
- to ensure that people who require support can easily access information about how their needs can be met,
- that people are able to access support to plan and look at the choices they have,
- to develop a diverse range of options to suit peoples individual requirements.
Membership to the network is free for anyone to join. Individuals using service are able to feed into the network by becoming a member and providers can keep up to date with developments of the Putting People First agenda. We currently have over 200 members across a range of interest areas, including disability forums, care providers, advice organisations, care providers and more.
IBNL received funding from Lincolnshire County Council to research and develop approaches to support brokerage.
Support brokerage is the term used to describe a range of tasks that may need to be carried out for someone to plan and arrange their care.
Part of this project has been to map the range of services and support that already exist in Lincolnshire. We have put this together on a dedicated IBNL website. We are currently uploading information to this site you can view this on http://www.ibnl.org.uk
